Advanced Simulation Workshop
February 28, 2020
We are pleased to announce the Advanced Simulation Workshop to be held on February 28, 2020 at the Theory and Computing Science (TCS) building, Argonne National Laboratory.
This workshop will bring together upcoming and leading scientists to present and discuss influential works in the fields of computational science, high-order methods, and high-performance computing.
In conjunction with the workshop, we will celebrate Paul Fischer’s contributions to computational science and engineering over the past three decades.

RegisterFor Visitors: A gatepass is required to access Argonne National Laboratory. Please register to proceed gatepass request. We encourage to register by January 31 to allow additional time to process a gatepass.
To register, please visit here, accept Terms and Conditions, provide lesquivel@anl.gov as your sponsor’s e-mail address, and complete the remainder of the web form.
When you arrive at Argonne, the Visitor Reception Center located at the North Entrance is where you will get the gatepass to access Argonne’s campus.
For Argonne Employees: please email Laura Esquivel to be on the list of participants.
No registration fee is required.

Directions
The nearest airports to Argonne are the O'Hare International Airport (ORD) which is about 25 miles away, and the Midway Airport (MDW) which is about 16 miles away.
- To reach Argonne from O'Hare International Airport, take I-294 south to I-55. Exit west on I-55 (toward St. Louis) and continue for about four miles to Cass Avenue. Exit south on Cass and turn right at the Argonne sign on Northgate Road, immediately south of I-55. Follow Northgate Road to the Visitor Reception Center.
- To reach Argonne from Midway Airport, take Cicero Avenue north to I-55. Enter I-55 south and continue for about 14 miles to Cass Avenue. Exit south on Cass and turn right at the Argonne sign on Northgate Road, immediately south of I-55. Follow Northgate Road to the Visitor Reception Center.
- Using GPS navigation: Visitors are recommended to enter location text as “Cass Avenue and Northgate Road, Lemont, Illinois” in order to reach the Visitor Reception Center at the Main Gate entrance. Otherwise you may be directed to alternate gate entrances which are controlled-access.
Accomodations
There are several area hotels near Argonne National Laboratory to reserve a hotel room.
Complimentary shuttle service is provided to/from Marriot and Crowne Plaza hotels to Argonne National Laboratory. Please mention you are attending the Advanced Simulation Workshop.
